Rudrabhishek is the most effective way to please Lord Shiva. Rudrabhishek means the anointing of Lord Shiva using through Rudra’s mantras. Rudrabhishek helps in getting rid of the diseases and malefic effects related to the planets. If Rudrabhishek is done on monday, shivratri , pradosh and Shravan month, one will feel a miraculous change in life.

According to a legend once lord Shiva was sitting with Goddess Parvati. She asked Lord Shiva with curiosity that why are you worshiped in this way in mrityu lok and what is the result of this? Lord Shiva said , ‘Dear Parvati’ whoever wants to fulfill his wishes soon, he performs ‘Rudrabhishek’ to receive a variety of fruits. Lord Shiva is pleased even with the simplest worship but rudrabhishek is the most beloved of him . He says that by pleasing shiva with rudrabhishek, you can get the power to make the impossible possible. With the grace of Lord Shiva, all planets obstructions and all problems are destroyed.

In Rudrabhishek, Vedacharya recites the mantras of yajurveda’s rashta chapter. It can be performed anytime, but it is more auspicious to do on mahashivratri and in Sharvan Month. Rudrabhishek is also different at different shivalingas and places. It is very good to do rudrabhishek on the shivling of the temple. Apart from this, it can also be performed on ‘shivlinga’ in not there, then you can anoint it with the thumb as a shivling.

As per Vedas, the following substances for Rudaabhishek are recommended for fulfilling different wishes.

Sugarcane juice – for money related problems                                         Water – for growth and fulfilling any desire                                             Milk –   for longevity                                                                                      Honey/Shahad – free from all troubles and misfortune, also for wealth

Panchamrit – for prosperity and overall happiness                                Ghee – for good health                                                                                  Dahi – to have a child.
