Once daksha prajapti perfomed a huge yagna but did not invite his son-in-law lord shakar. When his daughter came to know about this, then lord Shankar urged him to go the service yoga,lord Shankar tried his best to convince his wife,Mother Parvati, that when the invitation dose not come ,one should not go ,even if it is maternal uncle, but Sati Mata did not listen to his words and she went to her father’s house, but after going to maternal home . she was very disrespected. The humiliation happened that mother sati could not bear and she consumed herself by jumping into the burning yoga fire pit. And when lord shiva came to know about this, he got angry and sent own group called veerbhadra to destroyed and stop the Vindhya Daksha Yagya . Then this matter, lord pashupatinath, just as it was who gave god the from peple, but he could not forgive mother sati for his further violation.lord Shankar did not forgive her for not obeying his words , Then he cursed her for 10,000 years and then Mata Parvati climbing to Nandan forest for 10,000 years . After the birth of parvati, she did this fast till Ashadh sukla pkacha . As a result,the full moon of the month of Ashadh,which was received back by goddess parvati in the form of lord shiva,It is celebrated on shukla paksha.
